How to Check a Telegram Signal Channel Before You Pay
Why check first
A good signal channel and a scam can look the same at first: profit screenshots, many followers, a friendly admin. Follower count is not proof. Check before you pay a VIP fee, deposit with a broker or share personal details.
Step 1: Look for warning signs
- Promises of fixed profit, "guaranteed wins" or "no risk".
- Pressure to pay or deposit today ("limited slots").
- Only selected screenshots, with no full record that includes losing trades.
- Asking you to send money to a personal account, or to register through a broker you do not know.
- Deleting comments or blocking people who ask questions.
Step 2: Ask for a record you can verify
A good record shows every signal from the start, including losses, with the date, entry price, stop loss and take profit recorded when the signal was sent. Be careful with weekly profits posted after the market has moved. Ask whether there is a read-only monitoring account you can view yourself, and make sure it is a real account, not a demo.
Step 3: Check the parties involved
- Search the company, website or person in the Securities Commission Malaysia Investor Alert List: https://www.sc.com.my/investor-alert
- Check the Bank Negara Malaysia Financial Consumer Alert List: https://www.bnm.gov.my/consumer-alert2
- These lists are not exhaustive. A missing name does not mean it is safe.
- Activities such as giving investment advice or managing funds usually need a licence. Ask the admin whether they are licensed and verify it yourself.
Step 4: Check the community
- Read reviews on Telsynk and elsewhere. Notice whether reviews look uniform or arrive close together.
- Ask questions in the channel comments and see how the admin responds.
- Be wary of anyone who contacts you privately after you ask. Scammers often approach victims through direct messages.
Step 5: Start small
- Start with a free channel or a trial period.
- Prefer monthly payment over a yearly fee paid upfront where possible.
- Ask for the refund policy in writing before you pay.
- Never share your broker or trading account password.
If you have already been scammed
- Call the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) on 997 as soon as possible: https://www.malaysia.gov.my/en/topics/nsrc-997-hotline
- Keep all evidence: screenshots, payment receipts and the recipient's account details.
- File a police report and inform your bank.
- Check suspicious bank accounts or phone numbers through the PDRM Semak Mule portal: https://semakmule.rmp.gov.my
